Thiruvalluvar Day, Republic Day to be dry days in T.N., Tasmac announces

Tasmac declares dry days on Thiruvalluvar Day and Republic Day, with strict instructions to prevent violations.
The Tamil Nadu State Marketing Corporation Limited, popularly known as Tasmac has declared January 15 (Thiruvalluvar Day) and January 26 (Republic Day) as dry days.
Its Managing Director, S. Visakan has sent out a communication to all senior regional managers and district/depot managers instructing them to ensure that there is no violation in any of the shops and bars attached to the shops in the respective districts.
The Chennai Collectorate also issued a statement which said: “All the Tasmac (FL1) IMFL retail vending shops and attached bars, FL2 bars in clubs, FL3 bars in the hotels and FL3(A) licensed Tamil Nadu Tourism Hotel bar, FL3(AA) and FL11 Bars in Chennai district shall remain closed. There shall be no sale of liquor on those days. If any violation of the provision is noticed, necessary action will be taken.
