Minister Shivanand Patil dismisses rumors of replacing Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, assures payment of pending dues to farmers.
There is no question of replacing Siddaramaiah as Chief Minister. He is doing his job effectively and he will continue to be in the post, Minister Shivanand Patil said in Belagavi on Monday.
He said that the issue of changing the Chief Minister is being raised in Karnataka every now and then. It is meaningless. There is no question of changing the Chief Minister. Mr. Siddaramaiah is our leader and there is no need to change him.
Similarly, there is no need to discuss this issue any further, he told reporters. He was in the city to attend a private function.
He said that most sugar factories have cleared their dues to farmers and only around 5% arrears are pending. “We will make sure that all current dues and long-standing arrears are paid before the close of this sugarcane crushing season,” he said.
