Telangana women's groups to lease 150 buses to TGSRTC, with monthly charges of ₹77,220 each. Government to give guarantee to loans.
Soon, women’s groups in Telangana would rent buses to Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) at monthly charges of ₹77,220. The State government accorded permission to 150 Mandal Mahila Samakyas (MMS) to fund purchase of 150 buses, which would be leased to Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC). Each bus costs ₹36 lakh.
The corporation in turn will pay monthly charges of ₹77,220 to the Samakyas, which is equivalent to 15% of Equated Monthly Installment of loan for seven years for the amount invested, as per a government order issued on Monday (March 3, 2025).
The government would give guarantee for the loans to be taken by the Mahila Samakyas. TGSRTC will hypothecate the buses to the concerned MMS and register in RC book.
Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka and Panchayat Raj Minister Dansari Anasuya (also known as Seethakka) will ceremoniously flag off 50 buses at an event to be held in Parade Grounds in Hyderabad. The 150 buses would be procured under the Phase-I. Another 450 buses would be purchased in the next phase.
CEO of Society for Elimination of Rural Poverty (SERP) has earlier informed the government that 150 Mandal Mahila Samakhyas (MMS) have been identified in 17 Districts of erstwhile Khammam, Karimnagar, Mahabubnagar and Warangal Districts for purchase of the 150 buses.
