SPMVV signs MoU with institutions in Canada and Thailand for educational cooperation and exchange programmes, offering music and dance courses.
Sri Padmavati Mahila Viswa Vidyalayam (SPMVV) has signed a Memoranda of Understanding (MoU) with institutions in Canada as well as Thailand to promote higher educational cooperation and exchange programmes.
The university’s Centre for International Relations has been offering a four-year multi-entry multi-exit Advanced Diploma in Music (vocal / instrumental) and Dance (Bharatanatyam / Kuchipudi), and certificate courses in Indian music to students living abroad from the academic year 2016 in collaboration with reputed institutions such as the Telugu Association of North America (TANA), Suswara Academy of Music (Dallas), Raga-Vahini Music Academy (Minnesota) and Vidya Sangeetam Academy (Singapore). A total of 1,924 international students have been trained so far for the period 2016-2024.
Now, the all-women university has signed a pact with Telugu Alliances of Canada (TACA), which facilitates collaboration to offer the same courses to the Telugu students in Canada.
SPMVV Vice-Chancellor V. Uma, Registrar N. Rajani, Dean (International Relations) P. Vijayalakshmi, Associate Dean R. Usha, member P. Josthna, and Music & Dance faculty U. Himabindu participated in the event.
The university recently signed an MoU with Prince of Songkla University (PSU), Pattani campus, Thailand, to promote academic collaboration.
“The pact will pave the way for mobility programme for students, including internship, faculty exchange, conferences and workshops,” Prof. Uma said.
