Capt. Brijesh Chowta demands resignation of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah over MUDA scam, citing collapse of law and order in Karnataka.
Seeking the resignation of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah over the MUDA ‘scam’, Capt. Brijesh Chowta, Member of Parliament, Dakshina Kannada alleged here on Thursday that law and order in the State has collapsed under the government led by him.
Referring to the recent statement of ED which termed the allotment of 14 alternative sites to Mr. Siddaramaiah’s wife Parvathi in lieu of 3.16 acres of land acquired by MUDA as ‘illegal’, Capt. Chowta, who is the State Secretary of BJP, said that the Chief Minister should step down and face an inquiry. The ED also stated that it had provisionally attached 142 immovable properties with a market value of over ₹300 crore, registered in the name of various real estate business people and agents.
“Neither Mr. Siddaramaiah is quitting nor the Congress high command is seeking his resignation,” said Capt. Chowta.
Stating that he was quoting statistics from the Home Department Capt. Chowta said that of 563 rapes reported in the State during 2023-24, 178 were in Bengaluru alone. The State witnessed 540 rapes between April and November in 2024, of which 166 were in Bengaluru.
It reflected that women are not safe in Karnataka, Capt. Chowta alleged.
He claimed that the State reported ₹ 2,600 crore loss in cybercrimes during 2024.
Capt. Chowta alleged that drugs menace has increased in the State. Congress leaders are interfering in police administration. The government’s economic condition too has collapsed.
The event will run daily from 10 a.m. to 8.30 p.m., offering a variety of activities. Visitors can enjoy dance and music performances, hands-on art experiences, film screenings, and exhibitions from 10.30 a.m. to 6.30 p.m. These will feature folk cuisines, leather puppets, philately, textiles, and handicrafts.
