The CM had set an outlay of ₹11,841 crore for public works, the Minister said.
This Budget has laid a solid foundation for a prosperous, self-reliant and globally-leading State, due to the emphasis placed on education, health and employment generation. It also focusses on the minority welfare. Sectors like industry, agriculture, medicine have got bumper allocation. This is an unprecedented allocation, he said.
Priyanka Jarkiholi, MP, said it was a budget that provided justice to all sections of society. The CM has focused on all sectors. Adequate allocation has been made to guarantee schemes. It focusses on the have-nots in society, she said.
CM Siddaramaiah announced many projects for Belagavi district as well. He has announced grants for irrigation and water conservation projects for the district. An amount of ₹1,200 crore has been allocated for the construction of a new expressway to strengthen the connection between Belagavi and Dharwad. A new agricultural college has been sanctioned for Athani. A total of ₹199 crore has been announced for the development of Saundatti Yallamma Temple. These will help the people of the district, she said.
