
RPF asked to remain vigilant in view of incidents of defacement of railway station nameboards

RPF in Tamil Nadu increases vigilance to prevent defacement of Hindi letters on railway station nameboards.
Amid incidents of defacement of Hindi letters in railway station nameboards in different parts of Tamil Nadu recently, the Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel in Tiruchi Railway Division have been instructed to remain vigilant in preventing such acts.
An official communication has been issued in this regard to the RPF officers manning the posts and outposts. RPF Inspectors have also been instructed to increase patrolling and utilise inputs provided by the RPF Intelligence Branch for preventive measures and in maintaining effective surveillance.
RPF sources said the communication was issued a couple of days ago by the RPF Senior Divisional Security Commissioner of Tiruchi Division to field-level officers. The RPF personnel carried out a drive against defacement of name boards at Tiruchi junction. Instructions have been given to the duty staff to patrol near nameboards.
