Rajan Gurukkal elected general president of Indian History Congress

Indian History Congress elects Rajan Gurukkal as general president for next session, fourth Keralite to hold prestigious position.
The 83rd session of the Indian History Congress (IHC), held at Punjabi University, Patiala, from December 28 to 30, unanimously elected historian and Kerala State Higher Education Council Vice-Chairperson Rajan Gurukkal as its general president for the next session.
According to Kesavan Veluthat, the current vice-president of the IHC who served as the general president in 2022, Prof. Gurukkal becomes the fourth Keralite to hold the honorary position, following in the footsteps of Sardar K.M. Panikkar (1955), K.N. Panikkar (2008), and Prof. Veluthat.
