Yashoda Hospitals hosts Bronchus 2025 Conference in Hyderabad, uniting global experts to address lung cancer challenges.
In India, lung cancer constitutes nearly 8.5% of all cancer cases and remains one of the top three most prevalent cancers.
Addressing this growing concern, Yashoda Hospitals organised the fourth edition of Bronchus 2025, Interventional Pulmonology Conference, in Hyderabad on Sunday. The meeting saw the participation of over 60 international faculty members, more than 150 national faculty members, and over 3,000 pulmonologists from around the world.
Dr. G.S. Rao, Managing Director of Yashoda Hospitals, highlighted the evolving role of lung medicine, stating that continuous modernisation and expansion have transformed it into a crucial platform for medical experts from various countries to exchange knowledge and explore the latest innovations in medical science.
A key highlight of the conference was the departure from the conventional workshop format in favour of specialised training programmes focused on diagnosing and treating specific diseases, ensuring a more targeted and practical approach to interventional pulmonology. This event provided an opportunity for direct discussions with world-renowned physicians, giving amateur physicians the opportunity to become experts in cutting-edge world-class treatment methods.
Dr. Pavan Gorukanti, Director of Yashoda Hospitals and a Pulmonologist and Critical Care Expert, spoke about the new training methods being introduced at the hospital. He highlighted the launch of Lung Vision—an artificial intelligence-based device for early lung cancer detection—along with other innovations such as radial EBUS, which aid in diagnosing lung cancer at an early stage.
As part of the programme on lung health, Yashoda Hospitals organised the Bronchus Run, where lung specialists participated in a 2K run to promote awareness about lung health, said senior interventional pulmonologist Dr. Harikishan.
