Prime accused in Chilkur Balaji Temple attack arrested by Moinabad police; investigation ongoing, efforts to nab others involved.
The prime accused in the case pertaining to the alleged attack on head priest of Chilkur Balaji Temple was arrested by the Moinabad police on Sunday (February 9, 2025).
This comes two days after a group of men trespassed into the residence of the priest Rangarajan, located adjacent to the Chilkur Balaji temple, and allegedly attacked him over a religious matter on Friday (February 7, 2025). The arrested man was identified as Veera Raghava Reddy. Meanwhile, efforts are underway to nab others involved in the attack. Investigation in the case is underway.
Following the incident, the victim’s father M.V. Soundararajan, who is also the convenor of Temples Protection Movement, issued an official release. He said that few individuals who proclaimed themselves as the descendants of Ikshwaku clan and want to form Rama Rajya in which they create private armies to punish the people who do not accept their mission or agenda, have not understood the concept of Constitutional Rama Rajya. “My Son declined to get associated with them. They seriously manhandled my Son Shri Rangarajan..,” he said.
