Naam Tamilar Katchi (NTK) chief coordinator Seeman alleged on Saturday that it was Periyar who humiliated the people of the State for the last 60 years.
Speaking at a public meeting in Veerappanchatiram while campaigning for party candidate M.K. Seethalakshmi in the Erode (East) Assembly byelection, he said that 100 cases were registered against him in a single day for speaking for the people. He challenged the State government to construct the ‘pen’ statue in memory of former Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi, acquire 2,000 acres for SIPCOT, and execute the eight-lane expressway project.
