October saw highest power shortage in over 5 years

India recorded a power supply shortage of 1,201 million units in October 2021 — the highest in 5.5 years — due to available with thermal plants.
The shortage was mostly restricted to Gujarat, Haryana, Jharkhand, Punjab and Rajasthan.

One dies, eight hospitalised after inhaling HCL fumes at pharma company in Andhra Pradesh’s Anakapalli district. About 400 litres of HCL leaked from the reactor-cum-receiver tank at Unit-III of the company, which affected nine workers, says Collector.
