Yadgir City Municipal Council inaugurates new building with modern facilities to better serve growing population.
A new building for the Yadgir City Municipal Council (CMC) will finally be thrown open to the public with Minister for Municipal Administration Raheem Khan inaugurating it here on Monday.
The building has come up on an 8,000 sq ft space at a cost of ₹4.93 crore under the Nagarothan-4 scheme for 2023-24. It has been raised in the same place where the old building existed near Babu Jajivan Ram Circle in the city.
The government started construction on a full-fledged building with all modern facilities after several demands from elected representatives and the public.
“It has offices for the municipal president, vice-president and commissioner to attend to the public and their grievances. Apart from that, offices for the other staff to discharge official duties are also constructed. Drinking water and toilets for the public will be made available,” Chairperson of the CMC Lalita Anpur has said.
Yadgir city is growing as also its population. Citizens approach the office for their work, including remitting property taxes and seeking property documents.
“The old building did not have sufficient space for routine work. The new building has come up with all basic facilities after making much efforts,” Member of Legislative Assembly Channareddy Patil Tunnur said.
