Morale booster for Bengal: WB BJP on Delhi victory
The Hindu
West Bengal BJP sees Delhi victory as morale booster for 2026 elections, aims to unite Hindu votes for win.
Enthused with the party’s victory in the Delhi Assembly elections, the West Bengal unit of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Saturday said that victory will serve as a morale booster for the party in the State.
Assembly elections in West Bengal are scheduled in 2026. The ruling Trinamool Congress has outperformed the BJP in recent elections in West Bengal including the Lok Sabha election in 2024.

West Bengal BJP president Sukanta Majumdar and Leader of Opposition Suvendu Adhikari both expressed hope that the victory in the national capital will boost the party’s prospects in the State.
“The elections in Delhi prove that people are not with corruption, people are with the Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Now, our next target is West Bengal. In 2026, all Bengalis not only residing in West Bengal but also elsewhere will come together to win Bengal [for the BJP],” Mr. Majumdar told journalists.
Leader of Opposition Suvendu Adhikari who addressed a public gathering at Purba Medinipur spoke on similar lines and said that now it is the turn of West Bengal. Mr. Adhikari said that cash incentives and false cases will not work and “all Hindus will unite”.
“We will not allow West Bengal to turn into Bangladesh. Haryana has spoken, Maharashtra has spoken, Delhi has spoken, and Bihar will vote for us in November. The very next year in February or March, West Bengal will also give the same verdict,” the Leader of Opposition said.
