Minister Komatireddy slams KTR, foresees BRS’s shutdown soon

Komatireddy Venkat Reddy criticizes K.T. Rama Rao and Bandi Sanjay, questions KCR's absence, predicts BRS collapse, and highlights Musi River efforts.

Roads and Buildings Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy has slammed BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao for his comments on him, adding that the latter has no moral right to criticise him. The Minister also targeted Union Minister Bandi Sanjay for his remarks on balladeer Gaddar.

Speaking to the media after before attending the ‘face-to-face with Minister’ programme at Gandhi Bhavan here on Wednesday, he said, “I am not facing any cases like him.” He also recalled his active participation in the Telangana movement by quitting the Minister post.

Mr. Komatireddy demanded an explanation for the absence of Leader of Opposition K. Chandrasekhar Rao, despite having 30 party MLAs. He questioned whether K. Chandrasekhar Rao would attend the upcoming Budget session or quit and hand over the LoP post to KTR or BRS MLA T. Harish Rao. The Minister predicted the imminent collapse of BRS.

He also criticised BJP MP and Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar for his comments on Gaddar, questioning whether Mr. Sanjay played a role in the Telangana movement. Mr. Komatireddy highlighted the Congress government’s efforts to rejuvenate the Musi River, which the previous BRS government failed to do. He accused the BRS of obstructing the project, citing the river’s pollution as a more pressing issue than the Yamuna River. Komatireddy noted that the BJP had promised to cleanse the Yamuna River during the elections. The Minister pointed out the BRS’s poor performance in the Lok Sabha elections, securing zero seats and losing deposits in seven out of 16 Parliament constituencies. At the ‘face-to-face with Minister’ programme, Mr. Komatireddy received nearly 800 applications from the public.
