Various cultural programmes and competitions were held on the first day of the three-day event.
Ms. Hebbalkar urged the youth to set a goal in life and work towards achieving it. Everyone should have a goal in life. Nothing can be achieved otherwise, she said. She urged girl students to strive towards success with confidence. “Today, there is no field where women have not achieved success. Women are ahead in all fields, including science and sports. But there is no work being done to recognize women’s achievements. She advised that they should focus on achieving without worrying about it. It requires continuous effort,” she said.
“College days are the time to develop your lives and shape your future. As college students, you have to overcome the competitive world. Women should help each other and move forward,” Ms. Hebbalkar said.
Sangames Appasi Babaleswar, president of Karnataka Bala Vikas Academy, Dharwad, urged the Minister to sanction a grant of ₹100 crore from the State government for the comprehensive development of the university.
Vice-Chancellor B.K. Tulasimala said the festival was a platform for students to showcase their enthusiasm, creativity and skills.
A colourful procession was organised before the event.
