MCC introduces online rent payment for its tenants

Mayor Manoj Kumar launches online MCC Rent and Venue Management System for rent payments and venue bookings in Mangaluru.
Mayor Manoj Kumar on Thursday launched the new online MCC Rent and Venue Management System by which owners of shops in markets and buildings of Mangaluru City Corporation can pay rent online.
The new system will also help people to book Town Hall, Ambedkar Bhavan and the five MCC grounds - Nehru Maidan, Kadri Maidan, Urwa Maidan, Yemmekere ground, Jeppu Ground and Shanti Nagar grounds.
This follows introduction of online system for payment of property tax and water tax, renewal of trade licences, and launch of building monitoring system. All these online services can be accessed by visiting www.mccportal.in
Talking to reporters here, Mr. Kumar said tenants in 1070 stalls in 39 markets and commercial complexes of MCC can now pay rent online. It includes those in Old Bunder Market, Derebail Market, Nehru Maidan Market, Kadri Market, Jeppu Market, Karangalpady Market, Kankanady Market, Kankanady Flower Stall, Boloor Market, HOPCOMs Store, Bejai Market, Lalbagh Commercial Complex, Derebail Market, Valencia Ward Office, Surathkal Market, Alake Market, Padavu Market, Thiruvail market, Kannur Market, Bajal Market, MUDA Commercial Complex, Katipalla Market, Baikampady Market and Kulai Market.
For booking of Ambekar Bhavan, Town Hall and open grounds, Mr. Kumar said people have to visit the MCC office. These places will be booked on advance payment of land rent, subject to condition that it will be cancelled in case of government programmes. “We have made visit to MCC compulsory in order to prevent misuse of the booking facility,” Mr. Kumar said.
The Mayor said the MCC has set for this financial year a target of collecting ₹3.2 crore as revenue from rent of MCC buildings and booking of Town Hall, Ambedkar and open grounds . So far, MCC has collected 62% of the target amount.
The Mayor said the MCC will shortly start online system of seeking permission for hoardings.
