Ashok Kumar, 40, a daily wage worker, lived with his wife, Dhavamani, 38, and their children Vijayadarani, 13, Arulkumari, 10, and Arulprakash, 5, in Krishnapuram village in Gangavalli.
On Wednesday morning, a relative visited their house and discovered Dhavamani and the three children lying in a pool of blood with severe injuries. Arulprakash and Vijayadarani were found dead, while Dhavamani and Arulkumari were critically injured. The injured were rushed to the Government Hospital in Attur, where they were undergoing treatment.
Attur Deputy Superintendent of Police K.C. Sathish Kumar inspected the crime scene and initiated an inquiry. Preliminary investigations revealed that a domestic dispute led Ashok Kumar to commit the crime in the morning, the police said. The accused has been taken into custody, and further investigations were underway.
