
MAHE accommodated over 700 athletes for Karnataka State Games-2025

MAHE hosts Karnataka State Games 2025, providing facilities and accommodation for 700 athletes, promoting sports excellence and community spirit.
Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) not only facilitated holding of Hockey, Tennis, and Table Tennis events of Karnataka State Games 2025 at its facilities, but also provided accommodation to over 700 athletes at its hostels in Manipal between January 17 and 23.
Stating that MAHE is proud to have played a key role in the State Games, its Pro-Chancellor H.S. Ballal commented, “Sports and athletics are at the heart of holistic education. At MAHE, we are committed to supporting initiatives like the Karnataka State Olympics, which provide a platform for young athletes to showcase their talent. ” The event, held from January 17 to 23 in Mangaluru and Udupi, brought together 4,000 athletes competing in various disciplines.
As part of its involvement, MAHE hosted Hockey matches at the university’s End Point Grounds, while organising Tennis and Table Tennis at the state-of-the-art Marina Sports Complex. It also accommodated 700 athletes in its hostels, providing them with comfortable and secure living arrangements throughout the competition.
The MAHE Sports Council played helped in coordinating the university’s contribution to the event, ensuring the smooth execution of logistical and operational support. Vice Chancellor Lt. Gen. M.D. Venkatesh emphasised the importance of community participation and said, “At MAHE, we believe in actively contributing to initiatives that uplift the sporting spirit and bring communities together. Hosting and supporting the Karnataka State Olympics has been a privilege and we are proud to have extended our facilities and expertise to ensure the event’s success.”
