Kumaraswamy meets Gadkari, seeks outer ring road in Mandya

Union Minister Kumaraswamy meets Nitin Gadkari to discuss highway projects in Mandya, emphasizing urgent action needed.
Union Minister for Heavy Industries and Steel H.D. Kumaraswamy on Wednesday met Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari and submitted several proposals, including the outer ring road (ORR) in Mandya, with an appeal for action on priority.
During the meeting in New Delhi, Mr. Kumaraswamy discussed various highway projects and road development works in Mandya, Chamarajanagar, Mysuru, Kolar and Chikkaballapur. “The Minister for Road Transport responded positively to our requests and assured close attention to all proposed projects,” Mr. Kumaraswamy stated.
Meeting Mr. Gadkari at his residence in New Delhi, Mr. Kumaraswamy presented over ten proposals aimed at accelerating highway development in the State. Mr. Gadkari assured immediate personal attention to some of these projects, he added.
Mr. Kumaraswamy emphasised the need to widen the Mandya bypass road, improve its white-topping, and develop pedestrian pathways and junctions along NH-275 within Mandya city.
Mr. Kumaraswamy highlighted the deteriorating condition of the Mandya bypass road, which has become hazardous for motorists, especially at night due to potholes and uneven surfaces. Mr. Kumaraswamy urged Gadkari to prioritise these issues.
The Minister also discussed the development of roads along Pandavapura town and Kirangoor under the Jevargi-Chamarajanagar National Highway (NH-150A).
Mr. Kumaraswamy also drew Mr. Gadkari’s attention to several other projects, including the Andhra Pradesh-Kuppam-Bangarpet-Kolar-Chintamani route; the Chintamani Gajanana Circle-Chelur stretch; connectivity between Hoskote-H Cross-Chintamani via NH-69 and NH-75 and development of Hoskote-Gownipalli-Srinivaspur roads linking NH-75 through NH-42. The meeting concluded with Mr. Gadkari reiterating his commitment to addressing these projects.
