Telangana Minister accuses BRS leaders of murder of social activist Rajalinga Murthy , demands justice and fast-track court
Telangana Roads and Buildings Minister Komatireddy Venkata Reddy has accused that former MLA from the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), Gandra Venkataramana Reddy, and the BRS top leadership were behind the brutal murder of social activist Rajalinga Murthy as he exposed the BRS’s alleged ‘corruption’ in the Kaleshwaram project.
Addressing a press conference here, he said Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and the government has taken the murder seriously and the culprits would be brought to book. He also wanted the establishment of a fast-track court to ensure swift justice. “There is no place for murder politics in Telangana. We will protect those who fight against corruption,” the Minister asserted.
Rajalinga Murthy, husband of former Municipal councillor Sarala, was stabbed to death in the heart of Bhupalapally town, headquarters of the Jayashankar Bhupalapally district on Wednesday night after being chased by unknown people. He had filed a complaint against former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) and five others on the sinking piers in the medigadda barrage and alleged irregularities in the Kaleshwaram project.
Demanding the arrest of Venkataramana Reddy along with BRS leaders including T Harish Rao as the family members of the deceased named them, Mr. Venkat Reddy questioned the ‘murder politics’ of the BRS. “Will they kill those who stood against the looting of Telangana?” he asked.
The Minister said that it was not an isolated incident and alleged that the BRS has nurtured and promoted the politics of murder during its rule. He recalled the daylight murder of Advocate Vamana Rao and his wife, as well as the MPDO in Warangal during the BRS regime. He also referred to the attack on the Vikarabad district collector in Kodangal by Suresh of the BRS.
KCR’s popularity declining
Dismissing the claims of BRS chief and former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao that the Congress party’s popularity was rapidly falling, he mocked KCR saying those sitting in farmhouses would not understand whose popularity was slipping. “KCR’s graph only is decreasing due to his murderous politics?,” he alleged.
