KBADA chairman urges officials to expedite completion of Border Area Development Programme works and submit funds utilization certificates promptly.
Karnataka Border Area Development Authority (KBADA) chairman Somanna Bevinamarad has directed officials to ensure the completion of works under Border Area Development Programme on a war-footing and submit the funds utilization certificates immediately.
Chairing a meeting in Kalaburagi on Monday to review the progress of various works related to Border Area Development, Mr. Bevinamarad said that though the funds were released for various works during 2010-11, the authority has not received funds utilisation certificates.
Expressing his displeasure, the chairman said that though the funds were released long ago, many of the works have not yet started.
He asked the officials to give a detailed report on the works to be taken up so that the unutilised funds can be used for other works, where required.
The KBADA has released ₹22 crore to Kalaburagi district since 2010-2011, of which the fund utilization certificates were submitted for only ₹7.98 crore.
He directed the district authorities to submit the certificates at the earliest. The authority is providing basic amenities in schools situated in the border areas of the State.
