Kauvery Hospital Vadapalani receives JCI accreditation for patient safety, quality healthcare, and environmental sustainability practices.
Kauvery Hospital, Vadapalani, has received the Joint Commission International (JCI) accreditation for its commitment to patient safety, quality healthcare, and continuous improvement in medical practices. JCI, a U.S.-based non-profit organisation, establishes a detailed 16-chapter framework that addresses patient safety, treatment, and infrastructure.
At a press conference on Friday, Aravindan Selvaraj, co-founder and executive director, Kauvery Group of Hospitals, said quality in healthcare was important for offering timely treatment.
With technological strides in healthcare, hospitals are also looking at ways to address environmental concerns like global warming, he said, adding that Kauvery Hospital has adopted green practices such as using solar or wind energy, recycling water, reusing paper, and safely disposing of medical waste.
He also pointed out the need for a smoother medical visa process to make it easier for international patients to receive care. He said that better flight connectivity is important for making Chennai a leading healthcare destination again. JCI conducts a five-day inspection to assess the hospital’s standards.
