JACTTO GEO has resolved to mobilise a massive crowd of protestors for the hunger strike to be organised near Government Siddha Medical College in Palaymkottai on March 23.
In a preparatory meeting held at Tirunelveli District Revenue Officials’ Association Building here on Monday, speakers said the hunger strike was part of their ongoing agitations to get their demands, including revival of the old pension scheme, fulfilled. As the Tamil Nadu Government’s Budget session was going on, the protest was going to be conducted to attract the attention of Chief Minister M.K. Stalin.
The meeting, presided over by district coordinators of JACTTO GEO M. Subbu, Michael George Kamalesh and Prakash, decided to organise intensive campaigns in all taluks of Tirunelveli district for mobilising a minimum of 1,000 teachers and government employees for the hunger strike protest.
JACTTO GEO office-bearers Subbu and Parthasarathi said the Tamil Nadu Government was refusing to fulfil the genuine demands of government employees and teachers even after the manifesto of the DMK, the ruling party, had all the promises.
