Hyderabad City Police Annual Sports Meet 2025 featured various events, emphasizing the importance of sports for mental and physical fitness.
The Hyderabad City Police Annual Sports and Games Meet 2025 concluded on Thursday (January 23) at the Shivakumar Lal, Goshamahal Police Stadium.
The event featured several sporting events, including the 100-metre race, tug of war, and horse jumping and pegging alongside dance performances and patriotic songs. Trophies and medals were presented to the winners. While the CAR Headquarters team emerged as the overall winners of the four-day event, CSW-Task Force team secured second place.
Speaking on the occasion, Telangana Chief Secretary A. Santhi Kumari emphasised the importance of incorporating sports into daily life. She highlighted how sports contributes to mental resilience as well as physical fitness and expressed her hope that more such events would be organised in the future.
Hyderabad Police Commissioner C. V. Anand announced plans to organise State-level championships in the coming days and stressed the importance of making time for fitness, regardless of professional commitments. He noted that around 2,000 men and women from the Hyderabad City Police had taken part in various sports disciplines over the past four days.
The event will run daily from 10 a.m. to 8.30 p.m., offering a variety of activities. Visitors can enjoy dance and music performances, hands-on art experiences, film screenings, and exhibitions from 10.30 a.m. to 6.30 p.m. These will feature folk cuisines, leather puppets, philately, textiles, and handicrafts.
