A Richmond duplex was behind police tape Wednesday morning, after what RCMP are describing as a “serious incident.”
The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team was brought in, but few details about the nature of the incident have been provided.
Officers were called to Garden City Road, just north of Alderbridge Way, Tuesday night at an unspecified time.
The road was shut down for several hours while officers canvassed the scene.
A duplex and the median across the road were put behind police tape, officers on scene told CTV News, both areas were a part of the crime scene.
RCMP wouldn’t confirm what exactly happened, as the case is now an IHIT file, but described this as a serious and significant incident.
“There does not appear to be any need for public safety concerns at this time,” said Cpl Ian Henderson of Richmond RCMP in a brief news release Tuesday night.
