Montreal police (SPVM) are investigating after a woman was stabbed in the Plateau neighbourhood on Monday afternoon.
Police say a 911 call at around 3:10 p.m. prompted officers to respond to St-Urbain Street near Marie-Anne Street.
The woman was located with injuries caused by an edged weapon to the upper body, police say.
“The woman was rushed to the hospital where the latest information we have on her condition is that we fear for her life,” said SPVM spokesperson Jean-Pierre Brabant.
Based on information obtained at the scene, police located the scene of the assault in an apartment near where the woman was located.
Witnesses also described a suspect who was seen leaving the scene, and officers soon located him.
