Mounties on B.C.’s Sunshine Coast say they’re investigating a string of violent crimes that happened late last month and are asking for witnesses to come forward.
The first incident took place just after midnight on Dec. 20, police said in a statement Monday, when a local man was stabbed on the Sunshine Coast Highway in Madeira Park.
Two male suspects fled in a vehicle before police arrived, the Sunshine Coast RCMP said.
The victim was airlifted to a hospital in the Lower Mainland with serious injuries, but has since been released, according to police.
On the night of Dec. 20, around 11 p.m., police say a man was shot in the small oceanside community, on Francis Peninsula Road near Rondeview Road.
The victim, who police say is a man not from the area, is recovering from a non-fatal gunshot wound.
Again, two men fled in a vehicle before police got to the scene, according to the RCMP.
