Home Minister meets family of deceased doctor, promises support and justice, assures help from State Government.
Home Minister V. Anitha met the family members of Dr K. Sudhakar here on Friday.
Dr Sudhakar used to work in Narsipatnam Area Hospital in Anakapalli district. During the year 2020, he had criticised the then government, for allegedly failing to provide PPE kits, masks and other protective gear to the doctors providing COVID-19 treatment at hospitals. Subsequently, the former State Government suspended him. A month later, the doctor was arrested by the Visakhapatnam police for allegedly creating nuisance on road and later declared him mentally ill. The doctor died due to cardiac arrest during May 2021.
The family members recalled about the incidents that had occurred with Dr Sudhakar and had also explained about the progress of the CBI inquiry. Ms Anitha asked the kin to stay strong and said that eventually justice will be done in the case. The Minister has also assured all sort of help from the State Government. She also promised to take up the concerns of Dr Sudhakar’s family to the notice of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu.
