A hoax bomb threat created stir among the passengers of an international flight which arrived from Frankfurt to Chennai airport on Monday (January 3, 2025) night.
Police said a bomb threat to a Chennai-bound Lufthansa flight which arrived from Frankfurt airport at 12.30 a.m. on Tuesday, was received through an email by the Chennai airport officials. Based on the information, an emergency meeting of the Chennai airport security team was held at the airport, and it was decided to conduct a complete search of the plane that was arriving.
A bomb detection squad along with security officials thoroughly inspected the plane and found that the bomb threat was hoax. Following this, the flight, which was supposed to depart from Chennai for Frankfurt at 2 a.m. departed after a delay of two hours.
