
Governor felicitates winners of 84th All India Annual Art Exhibition

Telangana Governor awards winners at 84th All India Annual Art Exhibition, highlighting Hyderabad Art Society's legacy.
Governor Jishnu Dev Varma, on Thursday, presented awards to the winners of the 84th All India Annual Art Exhibition. This year, the exhibition received 250 artworks from various parts of India, out of which 200 were selected for display. A total of 50 awards were distributed, recognising talent from across the country.
Mr. Varma lauded the Hyderabad Art Society (HAS) for its dedication to promoting art through the All India Annual Art Exhibitions for the past 84 years. He highlighted the society’s legacy, tracing its origins back to 1941, when it was founded under the leadership of prominent figures such as Mehdi Nawaz Jung, Salar Jung, Khan Bahadur Syed Ahmed, and Ghulam Yazdani. “The Hyderabad Art Society is one of the oldest art organisations in the country, second only to the Bombay Art Society,” he remarked.
M.V. Ramana Reddy, president of the Hyderabad Art Society, expressed gratitude to the Exhibition Society for its unwavering support over the past eight decades, acknowledging its crucial role in sustaining and nurturing artistic endeavours.
