Releasing the election schedule during a media briefing on Thursday, GMC Commissioner Puli Srinivasulu said that the election notification and the voters’ list had been released and displayed on the GMC notice board.
The nominations can be filed at the Additional Commissioner’s chamber from January 22 to 24 between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m.
The nominations will be scrutinised from 11 a.m. to 12 noon on January 27. The withdrawal of nominations will be allowed from 12 noon to 3 p.m. until January 30.
The final list of candidates will be published immediately after the withdrawal deadline.
The election will be held on February 3 followed by counting and declaration of the results.
GMC Additional Commissioner Challa Obulesu, Deputy Commissioners D. Srinivasa Rao and C.H. Srinivasa Rao, and Council Secretary P. Srinivasa Rao were also present at the press meet.
