Fire accident at Kailasagiri tourist spot halts ropeway services, firemen douse flames as authorities investigate cause.
A fire accident occurred on the noted tourist attraction — Kailasagiri — here on Friday (March 07) morning. Thick flames engulfed the surroundings of the hill creating panic among the locals.
Since the accident occurred near the ropeway facility, it led the authorities to halt the aerial tram services immediately, as a safety measure.
Fire tenders from Suryabagh rushed to the spot immediately. The firemen were seen engaged in dousing off the fire. The reasons for the accident is yet to be ascertained, while workers of the tourist spot opined that burning of unwanted wastes and tyres might have led to the incident.
Visakhapatnam Metropolitan Region Development Authority (VMRDA) Chairman Pranav Gopal has enquired about the incident.
