
Fire at two Maha Kumbh camps in Prayagraj

Two fires reported at Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj, swiftly controlled with no injuries; Uttar Pradesh government emphasizes fire safety.
Two incidents of fire were reported from the Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj, according to an official statement. The first fire broke out at the camp of Shri Kapi Manas Mandal, while the second happened at the camp of the Consumer Protection Committee in the Maha Kumbh area.
“A fire broke out suddenly in two tents at the Shri Kapi Manas Mandal camp. The administration acted swiftly and brought the blaze under control. While controlling the fire at Shri Kapi Manas Mandal, it was discovered that the Consumer Protection Committee camp had also caught fire. The fire was doused,” said Promod Sharma, Nodal and Chief Fire Officer, Maha Kumbh.
No injury or loss of life was reported in either incident. The 45-day Maha Kumbh saw fire incidents on January 19, 30, and February 7. The Uttar Pradesh government has a comprehensive fire safety advisory in place. The advisory highlights key precautions and emergency protocols to be followed by pilgrims attending the festival.
