Fast Track Immigration-Trusted Traveller Programme launched by Amit Shah at Chennai airport for faster immigration process.
Faster immigration process is now available for passengers from Chennai airport as Union Home Minister Amit Shah inaugurated the Fast Track Immigration-Trusted Traveller Programme on Thursday.
Mr. Shah launched the programme virtually from Ahmedabad airport and along with Chennai airport, Mumbai, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Cochin airports too now have faster immigration process.
Passengers will have to record their details on the portal https://ftittp.mha.gov.in and subsequently, provide their biometrics at the Foreigners Regional Registration Office. On the day of travel, the passenger whose details are validated by the immigration authorities under this programme will have a separate queue and can swiftly leave after showing the passport at the e-gate, instead of having to wait in a long line.
“Registered passengers who are taking international flights tonight will be utilising the facility,” an official said.
