Education Participants’ Conference held in Raichur

The action plan on preparation for children’s learning has been shaped through the Education Participants’ Conference to improve the quality of education in the Kalyana Karnataka Region, Akash S., Additional Commissioner of School Education, Kalaburagi, said on Friday. He was addressing a conference at Jagajyothi Basaveshwar Auditorium at University of Agriculture Sciences (UAS) in Raichur.

He was addressing a conference at Jagajyothi Basaveshwar Auditorium at University of Agriculture Sciences (UAS) in Raichur.
The conference was held in Kalaburagi and Ballari for two years to discuss improving quality in education. “Experts shared their views and experiences on the matter while Pratham Foundation shared information on how to take the districts ahead in the education sector with quality education,” Mr. Akash stated.
“The Ddepartment is making efforts from the kindergarten level to improve the quality of education. Lower and upper kindergarten classes have begun at government schools. There were 65 schools in the beginning, and now 42,000 students are studying in the government schools across the State,” he said.
Mr. Akash added, “As many as 15,000 teacher posts are vacant in the region. The government-run schools in the region are also suffering from inadequate facilities including buildings, drinking water, and toilets. The department has introduced webcasting to prevent malpractice in the SSLC examinations, and later the same has been extended to the entire state.”
Deputy Commissioner Nitish K. said that the required training for the teachers in the KK region must be done, and teachers should explain to the students the benefits extended under Article 371(J). “The teachers should aim to raise the districts in the region to a high level in the education sector,” he appealed.
Gururak Sunkad, Registrar of UAS, also spoke on the day.
Mayor of Mahanagar Palike Narasamma Narasihmalu, Deputy Director of Public Instructions K.D. Badiger, Director of DIET, Indira, Chief of Pratham Foundation Suman Bhattacharya, and others were present.
