“For building Viksit Bharat, I gave a guarantee to strengthen four pillars. These pillars are farmers, youth, poor and women. The budget presented yesterday ensures that the guarantees of Modi are fulfilled. In the past years, we have given free ration, free health treatment and pucca houses to the poor,” Mr. Modi said, addressing a rally at Delhi’s R.K.Puram.
“Yesterday’s budget was a budget for the people of this country. The BJP government is investing the money of this country into roads, schools, hospitals, infrastructure and more,” Mr. Modi said.

Further praising the budget, he said, “The newspapers are filled with reports about the Budget because its the people’s budget. Over the last decade, India’s economy has risen from the 10th to the 5th largest in the world, indicating that it is growing stronger and that citizens’ income is increasing. If the situation had been like it was in the past, the rising earnings of the country would likely have been compromised by scams.”
He said that the country’s middle class contributed greatly towards development, adding, “It is only BJP which respects the middle class and rewards honest taxpayers.“
