CM to launch four welfare schemes today
Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy will launch the four welfare schemes at Chandravancha village in Kosgi mandal of combined Mahbubnagar district on the Republic Day.
The government will roll out four major welfare schemes - Rythu Bharosa (financial assistance for farmers), Indiramma Atmeeya Bharosa (support for landless agricultural workers), Indiramma Indlu (housing for the needy), and new ration cards.
Addressing a press conference at the Secretariat, Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu, Irrigation Minister N Uttam Kumar Reddy, Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy and Agriculture Minister Tummala Nageshwara Rao said the launch of the schemes reaffirm the Congress government’s commitment towards the poor.
Mr. Vikramarka said, to begin with, the launch would cover one village in every mandal and cover all the eligible beneficiaries. Then it would be expanded to all the villages and would continue till March. Earlier, the Ministers participated in a review meeting with the Chief Minister on the launch of schemes.
Mr. Uttam Kumar Reddy said that Telangana is set to launch the biggest-ever food security programme in independent India, and it would ensure food security and economic upliftment for over 70-73% of the State’s population.
The issuance of ration cards will adopt a saturation approach, covering all applicants who have previously registered through socio-economic surveys, Praja Palana, Praja Vani, or Mee Seva centres. The process will continue until every eligible family is included.
Mr. Reddy said after completing the process of issuing ration cards, the government would provide quality fine rice free of cost to all Below Poverty Line (BPL) households. “This is a landmark initiative that corrects years of negligence during the BRS regime. We are committed to ensuring that every eligible individual gets access to quality food and dignified living conditions.”
