Telangana CM seeks Centre's help for Regional Ring Rail, greenfield highway, and Hyderabad Metro Rail Phase-2 project.
Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy requested Centre to extend liberal help in Regional Ring Rail which would urbanise 60% of the State.
The Chief Minister, who virtually participated in the inauguration of Cherlapalli Railway Terminal on Monday (January 6, 2024), has requested Prime Minister Narendra Modi for help in the plan to lay Regional Ring Road (RRR) spanning 370-kilometre.
He has also requested the Central Government to extend its cooperation in the construction of a greenfield highway and direct railway network between the State Capital and Machilipatnam port.
The request follows the decision taken at the meeting of the Chief Ministers of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh A. Revanth Reddy and N. Chandrababu Naidu to expand the Hyderabad-Machilipatnam highway into an eight lane one for faster carriage of goods to and from the port.
This apart, the State Government had sent proposals for the development of Hyderabad Metro Rail Phase-2 project and it would need the Centre’s full support in the execution of the project. The State government requested the Centre to extend help in the construction of a new railway line from Vikarabad to Krishna and another line between Kalwakurthi and Macherla besides two lines from Dornakal easing the traffic and reducing the distance of the commute
.Thanking the Centre for completing the new terminal and station at Cherlapalli, the Chief Minister said development of railways was vital for the development of the country and growth of States like Telangana largely relied on it
.He reiterated the Government’s resolve to develop Telangana State into $1 trillion economy and said this would be helpful in the Centre’s moves to make the country a $ 5 trillion economy in the coming years.
