Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy emphasised the need to promote temple, health, and eco-tourism in the State.
Highlighting Telangana’s rich natural and cultural heritage, he said that the government would promote Ramappa and Thousand Pillar temples, and forests like Nallamala and Mallela Tirtham.
He said this while inaugurating Experium Park, a world-class immersive eco-park, at Proddutur village on the outskirts of Hyderabad on Tuesday. The Chief Minister announced that the State government will implement a new tourism policy soon and develop eco-tourism infrastructure. He praised Ramadugu Ramdev for developing Experium Park in line with the state’s vision and committed to developing the Vikarabad forest area as an eco-tourism centre.
Mr. Reddy also stressed the importance of promoting Telangana as a natural forest region and announced plans to introduce a policy encouraging students to plant and protect saplings in their mothers’ names.
“Vikarabad forest area has its own identity with abundant natural resources. The government will develop the Vikarabad area as an eco-tourism centre,” he said, adding that the government will bring a policy which helps every student plant and protect a sapling in the name of their mother emulating noted environmental activist ‘Vanajeevi’ Ramaiah.
Tourism Minister Jupally Krishna Rao and Chief Whip in the Council Patnam Mahender Reddy, film actor and former Union Minister Chiranjeevi among other dignitaries attended the event.
The High Court of Karnataka noted that the issue involved in the PIL is of seminal importance and has far-reaching dimensions in the operation of constitutional law and the power of the legislature to legislate on the orders of the apex court that are the law of the land to be invariably obeyed by all, including legislative bodies.
Built in 1927 during the British era, this marketplace has been a hub of activity for decades, offering everything from fresh produce and flowers to meat, dry fruits and exotic spices. However, years of neglect, accidents and infrastructure wear and tear have taken a toll on this heritage structure. During the 2012 fire incident at the market, more than 170 out of 440 shops, and the general infrastructure of the market was destroyed. The shops were given a basic makeover then. Since then, only the exterior of the market has been renovated, leaving the interiors and the roof untouched for more than a decade.
