The BJP high command appears to have tried to address the concerns of the camps of rebels and party State president B.Y. Vijayendra as it has put on hold the appointment of Chickballapur district unit president, along side issuing show-cause notice to rebel leader Basanagouda Patil Yatnal.
In a letter to Mr. Vijayendra, BJP national general secretary and Karnataka in-charge Radha Mohan Das Agarwal has stated that party national president J.P. Nadda had put on hold the election of Chickballapur district unit president B. Sandeep till further instructions. He has also made it clear in the letter that Mr. Sandeep cannot function as district unit president and also cannot vote in the election to the post of party State president.
Mr. Sandeep’s election had ruffled the feathers of party MP from Chickballapur K. Sudhakar, who had accused Mr. Vijayendra of hatching a conspiracy to elect his loyalist to the post. He had publicly raised a banner of revolt against Mr. Vijayendra demanding his replacement as State president.
