Bomb threat hoaxes at two private schools prompt thorough searches by BDDS and police, leading to evacuations and false alarms.
A bomb threat emailed to two private schools on Tuesday turned out to be a hoax after a thorough search by the bomb detection and disposal squad (BDDS) and police personnel.
Classes were underway at Bharathi Vidya Bhavan Matriculation Higher Secondary School in Thindal when, at around 1.30 p.m., the school received an email warning them that bombs were planted on the premises. The school authorities promptly alerted the district police, and police personnel, along with the BDDS, arrived quickly. Students and teachers were evacuated from their classrooms, and parents were notified to pick up their children. Additionally, vans were provided to transport students to their homes. After a thorough search of the entire premises, the threat was found to be a hoax.
Similarly, at 3.30 p.m., Achariya Siksha Mandir at Vannankattu Valasu on Perundurai Road, near Kadhirampatti, also received a threat, prompting personnel to conduct a thorough search. In the end, the threat was declared to be a hoax.
