Former Rajya Sabha member and senior leader of BJP G.V.L. Narasimha Rao has described the BJP’s victory in Delhi as historic coming after a long 27 years. He said that the BJP, which was limited to only three and eight seats in the 2015 and 2020 Delhi Assembly elections respectively, has now secured over a two-thirds majority in Delhi Assembly polls.
“The people of Delhi have voted for the development of Delhi by electing a ‘double engine’ government. This victory was largely because the people believed that Delhi would develop only under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi”, he said.
He also alleged that Aam Aadmi Party has betrayed people’s trust and was mired in corruption. He stated that the BJP will fulfill all the promises it made to the people of Delhi and reminded Mr. Narendra Modi’s creditable track record in fulfilling all promises made to people.
Mr. Narasimha Rao expressed confidence that the BJP, which is returning to power in Delhi after 27 years, will make it its fortress for at least the next 25 years.
He expressed optimism that the BJP will continue its winning streak and focus on strengthening the party in the southern States as its next big priority. In the next elections, the BJP will come to power in the states of Telangana and Karnataka and further strengthen its position in other southern States, he said.
