Beypore International Water Fest from January 4

Beypore International Water Festival features water activities, food festival, drone show, and cultural events with tight security measures.
All arrangements are in place for the fourth edition of the Beypore International Water Festival that begins at Beypore in Kozhikode on Saturday (January 4).
The two-day festival that features various water adventure activities, food festival, kite festival, drone show, and cultural activities on the Beypore marina and Chaliyam beach is organised by the Department of Tourism and the District Tourism Promotion council.
The water activities include sit-on-top Kayaking, sailing, angling, flyboard demo, dinky boat race, paramotoring, surfing, net throwing, country boat race and para-mounting. Coast Guard’s Dornier Art Crafts will fly past the venue on both the days. Coast guard and Navy ships will be open for the public at the port as well.
The food festival began at the Parisons Ground on December 27 and will be on till Sunday.
The drone show will be held between 7.30 p.m. and 8.30 p.m. It will be followed by a music programme led by singers K.S. Harishankar and Jyotsna Radhakrishnan.
Traffic to and from Beypore has been severely regulated due to the festival. Parking arrangements have been made in four different locations. The vehicles coming through BC Road shall be parked at the mini stadium, while those from Kozhikode town can be parked at the GVHSS ground. Two plots near the port have been arranged for vehicles that reach the Beypore town. Those vehicles coming through Payyanakkal OM Road shall park at the Kallingal ground.
Around 75 autorickshaws will be in service between the parking grounds and Beypore town. The guests will however be transported through water to avoid the traffic congestion.
