Bengaluru native Satish S. introduces rare wolf-dog Cadabom Okami, part of his collection of 150 unique canines.
Bengaluru native Satish S. is running with the big dogs, literally. The former breeder claimed to have purchased a rare wolf-dog from the US for a whopping ₹50 Crore three months ago and introduced it at a show recently. The 8-month-old pupper named Cadabom Okami is the fifth-generation descendant of a wolf-dog cross.
“Wolf-dog is a new and very rare breed and you wouldn’t find it even in the records of American Kennel Club. This is the first time a wolf dog is being introduced to the world,” claims Mr. Satish.
Explaining that Okami means ‘alpha’, he says that while the dog’s facial features resemble that of a wolf, it has a friendly and dog-like temperament.
“A direct wolf-dog crossbreed will be very ferocious. Around 20 years ago in The US a rescued wolf and a Caucasian Shepherd were crossed. The wolf died, but its bloodline has continued and Okami is the fifth generation,” he says.
Okami who weighs 75 kg and is 30 inches tall, consumes about 3 kg of chicken daily and lives at Mr. Satish’s farm in Bengaluru.
This isn’t the first time Mr. Satish, who has an eye for rare breeds, has been spending jaw-dropping amounts on dogs. According to him his first rare breed buy was a Korean Mastiff for ₹1 crore.
“I found it after a search of 20 years,” he says.

On getting information that the promoters of Srinivas College had encroached on parts of 4.11 poramboke (community) land of Nandini river for construction of a building, an official team visited the site on March 6. The Dishank software revealed that the college had encroached on 23 cents of poramboke land in Survey No. 47/1A1, and filled it with soil. A detailed mahzar (examination) was done on March 10 and a police complaint was lodged on March 17.
