The Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) has won the National Bus Transport Excellence Awards in four categories for the year 2023-24.

Corporation’s Managing Director Ch. Dwaraka Tirumala Rao, Executive Director (Zone-II) G. Vijayaratnam and Deputy Chief Engineer (IT) Y. Srinivasa Rao received the award from former IPS officer Kiran Bedi at a function held in New Delhi on Saturday (March 8, 2025).
Mr. Tirumala Rao congratulated the officials and staff who worked hard to ensure these awards. He said under the able leadership of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, the APSRTC would continue to develop further and reach new heights.
In view of the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) Public examinations, scheduled in the State from March 17 to March 31, 2025 and the fact that a total of 6,49,884 students are expected to write the exams in 3,450 centres across the State from 9.30 a.m. to 12.45 p.m., the APSRTC officials have instructed the staff to allow 10th Class students to travel free of cost in their buses during the exam timings.
Even if the students do not have bus pass and show their exam hall tickets, they would be allowed from their residence to the examination centre and back in all the Ultra Pallevelugu, Pallevelugu and City Ordinary Service buses.
A statement issued by the Corporation said the free travel facility will be permitted only on the days of the examination during the examination period i.e. from March 17 to March 31/April 1, 2025.
