Andhra Pradesh to host IIT Madras students for startups and knowledge testing, with support from N. Chandrababu Naidu.
Andhra Pradesh will host students from IIT-Madras who wish to test their startups, knowledge, or ideas, says its Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu.
Mr. Naidu, who spoke at the All India Research Scholars’ Summit-2025 organised at IIT-M here on Friday, said, “Any student who wants to test his or her startup, knowledge, or ideas can come to Andhra Pradesh. I am here to host you. And we will give you proof of concept, and you can go anywhere and do your business.”
The Chief Minister said his government was building a ‘Quantum Valley’ in Amaravati. “We are starting with the support of IIT-Madras a ‘Quantum Valley’ from Amaravati. I am talking about Artificial Intelligence (AI). I am saying every family must use AI. Every individual must use AI,” Mr. Naidu said.
“We will develop a ‘Quantum Valley’ tower that will reflect the future of computing. You name anything. We are going to demonstrate all future technologies in Andhra Pradesh. That will be a big gift for India also,” he said.
The project would be implemented with the support of IBM, IIT-Madras, TCS and L&T, besides the Union government, he said. “This is a first of its kind in India, and I want to encourage Deep Technology in all walks of life,” Mr. Naidu asserted.
Tracing the history of Indian economy post Independence, dividing it as pre-economic and post-economic reforms, Mr. Naidu recalled that his representations to successive Prime Ministers had resulted in the government deregulating telecommunications, which proved to be a game changer. By then, China had already introduced mobile telephony, he observed.
Post-Independence, it was a brilliant idea to set up IITs. The institutions had produced around 1 lakh IITians and 30,000 doctors, who left the country for jobs abroad. They had since created global knowledge footprints, though it was a brain drain for India.
