Adani Krishnapatnam Port empowers local farmers with tractors, e-rickshaws, and more through CSR initiatives for increased productivity.
In a bid to empower local farmers of its project affected and peripheral villages, Adani Krishnapatnam Port Limited (AKPL) chief executive officer (CEO), Jagdish Patel, distributed tractor, e-rickshaw and motorised pesticide sprayers to the farmers associated with the Krishnapatnam Farmer Producer Company Limited (KFPCL), at ‘Rythu Sneha Bandanam’ programme.
Adani Foundation, under the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) of AKPL, has promoted KFPCL to empower farmers on the economic and social front by a way of reducing agricultural input cost and increasing crop production per unit of area of land, and giving forward linkage to the farmers for better realisation of sale revenue of their agricultural produce.
After inaugurating the Rythu Sneha Bandanam programme here on Monday, Mr. Jagdish Patel said, “AKPL through its CSR arm is committed to empowering the farmers for which farmers are imparted various agricultural techniques to increase the productivity of the farmland, thus enhancing their income levels.”
Rajesh Ranjan, CSR head, said, “Through CSR Project Annapurna, Adani Foundation had been extending agricultural input support of groundnut seeds, gypsum, motorised sprayers, horticulture plants and others to the farmers associated with KFPCL and especially with farmers of peripheral villages such as Narikelapalli, Ramnagar, Arcotpalem and Krishnapatnam.”
