Tamil superstar and racer Ajith Kumar was involved in two car crashes during the ongoing Porsche Sprint Challenge: Southern Europe in the Spanish city of Valencia.
The actor’s manager Suresh Chandraa shared a clip of the incident and clarified the star wasn’t at fault. In the clip, Ajith’s car can be seen crashing with another car, before being flipped multiple times. The actor has thankfully escaped unscathed.
“In Valencia Spain where the races were happening the Round 5 was good for Ajith kumar. He ended 14th place winning appreciations from every one. Round 6 was unfortunate.
“Crashed 2 times due to other cars. The annexes video clearly shows that he was not in fault. First time despite of crash he got back into pit and was doing well. When second time again crash happened and he toppled twice. His perseverance is stronger and he comes out unscathed again to continue the race (sic),” Suresh captioned the post, adding that the star is thankfully alright.
This comes just weeks after the star met with an accident during a practice session in Portugal while training at the Estoril Circuit. Earlier this year, while preparing for the Dubai 24H race, Ajith’s car crashed into a safety barrier, spinning multiple times before coming to a halt. Despite the harrowing incident, he walked away unharmed and went on to secure a podium finish with his team, Ajith Kumar Racing by Bas Koeten.
Ajith, a well-known racing aficionado, announced his return to racing in September 2024, with the launch of his own racing team, called Ajith Kumar Racing. The team had announced the star’s desire to participate in the upcoming European GT4 championship. Popular Belgian racer Fabian Duffieux was announced as the team’s official racing driver.
A passionate racer, Ajith previously competed in the Asian Formula BMW Championship and the British Formula 3 Championship, including podium finishes at the Donington Park and Knockill circuits. He had also raced in the FIA Formula 2 Championship. Having started off with motorcycle racing, Ajith also took part in the National Motorcycle Racing Championship.
