DMK secretary exposes AIADMK member's involvement in ECR incident, criticizes former CM Palaniswami for blaming DMK.
DMK organisation secretary R.S. Bharathi, on Saturday, said one of the persons who chased and threatened the women on the East Coast Road (ECR) was in fact a cadre of the AIADMK and the car in which he had travelled belonged to the nephew of the secretary of the Nilgiris district AIADMK unit.
Talking to reporters, Mr Bharathi said Chandru, one of the persons who had been arrested, was an AIADMK member. “Former Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami has the habit of blaming the DMK for all crimes in Tamil Nadu. Now he stands exposed,” he said. Further he claimed that Mr Palaniswami sought to divert attention from this, by blaming the DMK for the incident.
“The Dravidian model government led by Chief Minister M.K. Stalin is running a welfare regime. Its pro-people programmes and measures have helped the party win all elections. Blaming the DMK for the ECR incident is to damage the good reputation enjoyed by the party among the people,” he said.
Mr Bharathi also urged the police the speed up the investigation and bring to book the culprits.
